Heart CT scan
A heart CT scan is an advanced x-ray contrast examination of the coronaries. The purpose of the examination is to determine whether your coronaries are normal or whether you should be offered medication, angioplasty or bypass surgery.
In a few cases, the examination is used prior to pacemaker implantation or electrical treatment of arrhythmia. In even fewer cases, the examination is used to clarify a hereditary heart condition.
