Which valve diseases can be repaired?
All types of valve diseases can be repaired but the severity of the disease can prevent a surgical satisfactory result:
- Aortic stenosis
- Aortic insufficiency
- Combination of stenosis and insufficiency
- Congenital aortic valve disease like aortic bicuspid valve
If repair is not possible, the surgeon will instead insert a valve prosthesis.
